Abilympics - Olympics of Abilities are Vocational skills competitions, specifically designed for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). National Abilympic Association of India (NAAI) was set up in 2001 to discover, nurture and enhance their talents in various vocational skills. NAAI was handed over to Sarthak Educational Trust, considering its Pan India presence and active engagement in the skill development and sustainable employment of PwDs. India under the umbrella of NAAI, hosted 6th International Abilympics in Delhi in 2003 and subsequently also participated in 7th, 8th and 9th International Abilympics held in Japan, South Korea and France. The next International competition is scheduled to be held in China, 2020
In this series, NAAI and Sarthak Educational Trust in collaboration with World Skills India (Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship), The Hans Foundation and AICTE are now going to organize Regional Abilympic competitions in the city of Kolkata for East Zone, on 1st-2nd June, 2018. Best talent will be selected to compete in National competitions to be held from 15th to 18th July, 2018.
The competitions will be conducted in following 10 skill trades under ICT, Crafts, Services, Industry and Food –
