A Life-Altering Accident

In 2021, Mohit Vikhankar’s life changed in a split second. While commuting to work by train—just as he did every day—he fell from the moving train, sustaining devastating injuries that led to the amputation of his left hand and the loss of toes on both feet.

The accident left Mohit with an 86% locomotor disability. More than the physical pain, it was the emotional turmoil that shattered him—his dreams, career, and confidence all seemed lost in an instant.

Lost and Hopeless

Before the accident, Mohit had completed his B.Com and worked in the automobile sector. He was independent, passionate, and looking forward to a bright future. After the accident, everything collapsed.

He lost his job. Rejections poured in from companies unwilling to hire a person with a disability, despite his experience and skills. Depression crept in, and for nearly three years, Mohit struggled—searching, hoping, but finding only closed doors.

One evening, while scrolling through Instagram, Mohit discovered Sarthak Educational Trust. He watched stories of persons with disabilities rebuilding their lives through skill training and employment. For the first time in years, he felt hope.

Determined to turn his life around, Mohit enrolled in a free one‑month training program at Sarthak’s Global Resource Center in Gurgaon.

Back in the Game – A Job That Changed Everything

With Sarthak’s support, Mohit secured a job in the same industry where he once worked—hired as an Accessories Executive at a Hyundai showroom with an annual salary of ₹3.2 LPA.

For Mohit, this was more than a job—it was a second chance. With his father retired, his mother a homemaker, and only his brother previously earning, he could contribute to his family once more.
