Beyond Sight, Beyond Limits: Monica’s Milestone in a 5-Star World

Monica Singh from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, never allowed visual impairment to define her limits. An ambitious and determined professional, Monica believed that with the right skills and confidence, she could create her own space in any industry.

Her journey took a powerful turn when she trained at Sarthak Educational Trust, where she strengthened her technical foundation. She mastered assistive technologies like screen readers (JAWS and NVDA), learning to navigate the internet, manage data, and operate professional software systems with speed and precision. Technology became her bridge to independence.

With experience as a Team Leader in the BPO sector, handling major brands like Daikin and Amazon, Monica had already proven her leadership abilities. But she aspired to step into a new and more challenging space — the hospitality industry.

Breaking Barriers in Hospitality

In February 2026, she achieved a remarkable milestone by joining Pullman & Novotel New Delhi Aerocity (Accor Group) as a Guest Service Associate – Front Office. Entering a 5-star hotel environment was not without its challenges. Large premises, orientation barriers, and software accessibility issues initially tested her resilience.

However, with continuous support, structured orientation, and accessible solutions like customized shortcut keys, Monica adapted quickly. She didn’t just adjust — she excelled. Her appointment became historic, as she emerged as the first visually impaired professional in that unit to hold a front-office role.

From Challenge to Empowerment

This achievement was not only a professional milestone but also a deeply personal triumph. Earlier, with a limited income, Monica found it challenging to support her family substantially. Today, with her new role and an annual salary of INR 2.73 LPA, she stands empowered — contributing confidently to her household and shaping a more secure future.

A Symbol of Inclusion

Today, Monica stands as a symbol of inclusion in the hospitality sector. Her journey reminds us that when accessibility meets opportunity, talent finds its true stage.

Because excellence is not about sight — it is about vision. 🌟
