A Ray of Hope: Vansh’s Journey with Autism

When Vansh was born, his parents dreamed of a bright future for their son. But as Vansh grew older, something felt different. By the time he turned three, Vansh rarely responded to his name, avoided eye contact, and didn’t play like other children his age. Instead of babbling words, he relied on crying to communicate.

Their worries deepened when Vansh started showing signs of extreme hyperactivity, struggling to sit still or focus on even simple tasks. After consulting a doctor, the diagnosis came—a word that would change their lives forever: Autism. The news was devastating. There was no history of disabilities in the family, and Vansh’s birth had been without complications. His parents felt lost, unsure of how to support their son.

The doctor recommended therapy, but private sessions were far beyond their financial means. Determined to help Vansh, they tried managing on their own, but progress was slow and frustrating. Vansh’s behavior often left them overwhelmed, and they began to feel isolated in their journey.

Then came a turning point. A friend suggested reaching out to Sarthak Early Intervention. With nothing to lose, they connected with the Early Intervention team. The staff welcomed them warmly, listened to their struggles, and conducted a detailed evaluation of Vansh’s needs. For the first time, they felt understood. Vansh was enrolled in occupational therapy, speech therapy, and special education—all provided free of cost.

In the beginning, the challenges were immense. Vansh was unable to sit still during sessions, struggled to follow even basic instructions, and often communicated through crying. But the therapists at Sarthak remained patient and persistent.

In just three months, Vansh’s progress was nothing short of remarkable.

Through speech therapy, Vansh learned to focus his attention. He began responding to his name, following simple commands, and even helping with small household tasks like filling water bottles and organizing vegetables. His parents were amazed when he started identifying fruits and animals in picture books and greeting others with a cheerful “Namaste.”

In special education, Vansh’s cognitive and fine motor skills developed rapidly. He could now count to five, scribble on paper, and participate in art and craft activities. His eye contact and ability to focus on tasks improved significantly, filling his family with pride.

Occupational therapy transformed Vansh’s hyperactivity into calm attentiveness. He learned to complete activities independently, and his ability to sit and concentrate improved dramatically.

Every milestone Vansh achieved felt like a miracle. The day he pointed to a picture of an apple and said the word aloud was a moment his family would never forget. They no longer felt helpless; instead, they were filled with hope and gratitude.

“Seeing Vansh progress like this is a dream come true,” said his mother, her eyes brimming with tears. “If we had found Sarthak earlier, who knows how far he could have come by now.”

Today, Vansh’s home is filled with laughter, colorful artwork, and the sounds of his growing vocabulary. His family is no longer alone on this journey—they are part of a community that believes in Vansh’s potential as much as they do.

Vansh’s story is a testament to the power of early intervention and the incredible impact of unwavering support. As his family looks toward the future, they know one thing for certain: with the right guidance, Vansh will continue to shine in his unique way, proving that every child deserves the chance to thrive.
